GYS. Got Ya Swangin'...Yes they do!

Like their debut album title, this clique tight trio is “THE FORMULA” for a swanky, “no coast” hip-hop sound. GYS brings a new combination of tight lyrics, diverse beats, and a style that will surely speak for itself.

Since becoming a part of Kamikaze Records in mid-November 2002, the group has been focused on completing their first album, working closely with label mate Randy Rock, and up and coming producer Brodie of OUTFIT MUZIK.

Having met through mutual acquaintances they soon became close friends by way of similar interests, one in particular being music…

“Druid was into DJ-ing back then, he would spin records for us. We’d make our little mix tapes. It was some dirty ghetto sh**…We thought we were stars.” Elowen recalls.

This trio knows that talent and a catchy beat will only get you so far. This family tight crew pours hours into timing and perfecting their sound. Ensuring everything coming out of “The Hideout” (Kamikaze Records' Pacific studio) will be one of the key elements to ensure this independent label stays ahead of the game.

“I spend a lot of time in the studio, getting versed on everything. It’s gonna pay off though, help things go smoother for future projects, ya know, ” Seven says.

While this is the group’s first album, they definitely aren’t new to hip-hop and what it takes to start a fan base. Druid states, “We try to stay focused and keep it low key. But, when it’s time to work…no question, we’re gonna make it happen.
